You’re Fucking Beautiful.

IMG_4106_editLove. It’s what the world needs more than anything, and we tried spreading some in DTLA last week.

Hugs. Flowers. Balloons. Telling Angelenos they’re fucking beautiful. Little things to brighten up people’s day was our strategy.IMG_4023_edit.jpgIMG_4080_editWe, as a company, strive to do good for the world and our community, and we implement that into every part of our business we can. From the drought-free California spring water we use for our product, to 5% of our profits being donated to charity every year.

We don’t do all of this purely for marketing purposes or to hop on a corporate trend, we do this because we feel it’s just the right thing to do, and we enjoy making the world just a little bit nicer.

What can you do today?IMG_4101_edit.jpgIMG_4048_edit.jpgIMG_4054_edit.jpgIMG_4070_edit_b&w.jpg

Things to Do With Pops in LA

Father’s Day is upon us. And with that in mind, we thought to share some possible activities you can do with your old man today. You may find this post especially useful if you still don’t know what to do and are trying to find something last minute. It’s okay, we all do it.

For the Outdoorsy Father

If he loves spending his time outside enjoying nature’s landscapes, you have to consider taking him hiking on the Sara Wan Trailhead at Corral Canyon. This is where mountains views meet the sea’s horizon. And best yet, Malibu’s Corral Canyon is the only coastal canyon in Los Angeles county that has never been developed. That’s right, raw nature, just as it was intended.

The Art Lover

Just in time for the Father’s Day weekend, bring him to the Pasadena Chalk Festival where more than 600 artists gather to make street art in many styles from classical to contemporary. Held at the Paseo Colorado Shopping Center (280 E Colorado Blvd.) it’s the largest street painting festival in the world. In addition to the art, there’s plenty of food, shopping, and live music to enjoy. Oh and it’s free, so go.

The Multi-Tasker

If he can’t resist the chance to kill two birds with one stone, you gotta take him to Blind Barber in Culver City. Not only can he get a traditional haircut and straight-razor shave here (please take him if he needs one,)  he can also enjoy crafted cocktails at their speakeasy space. Yes, this place doubles as both a barbershop and a bar; business in the front, party in the back. The atmosphere has a younger, hipper vibe, so make sure that’s cool with him. The happy hour is 6-8pm btw, if you’re into that.

Sunlight and Sustenance

IMG_3821When was the last time you got the family/friends together and just enjoyed a picnic outside for an afternoon? Long time right? In our digital age, it’s even more uncommon than ever. So for International Picnic Day (June 18) treat your loved ones to sunlight and sustenance. Sometimes the simplest things are the ones most fulfilling.

Los Angeles is a bursting metropolis but within in you can find green, and sky and a welcome place to come enjoy the simple things in life. Grand Park in Downtown is a favorite with the corporate workers looking for a lunchtime escape and the families needing a place where their toes can explore the feeling of grass.IMG_3809_lowresIMG_3817_edit_lowresIMG_3812IMG_3823

Discover LA: The Line Hotel

We are constantly in search of new, cool spots to get lost in LA. This week our pick is The Line Hotel in Koreatown. The hotel is set in a restored midcentury building. It differentiates itself from many surrounding hotels by its floor to ceiling windows, which provides stunning Hollywood Hills views and with its industrial-chic rooms and funky original art pieces, which creates a very hip atmosphere.

During the day, you can relax by the pool, which is surrounded by citrus trees or you can grab lunch in the greenhouse commissary. By creating a glass dome right in the middle of the city, The Line Hotel’s Commissary restaurant is for sure one of our favorite places. Or if you enjoy authentic food, you can please your palate at the Pot restaurant inside the hotel, which brings Korean culture to your table.

While you are escaping from the city life and relaxing at The Line Hotel, we highly recommend trying The Locust & Lanfray cocktail. In this warm weather, this cool loft & bear cocktail will make you feel like you are on vacation.

When Will Construction End?

In 2013, Ratkovich Co. purchased the Macy’s Plaza in Downtown LA for $240 million. It was announced that the plaza will go through a makeover in 2014 and will be named The Bloc. Today, in 2016, we are still waiting for the construction to end.

But in the meanwhile, lets talk about how the makeover will benefit us as customers. First of all, The Bloc will not have huge concrete walls separating it from the outside world. It will have an open-air concept, which will have a lot of sunlight. It will become pedestrian friendly providing a nice escape from the chaotic downtown life. Also it will have direct connection to the 7th Street Metro Center, which is a huge plus in a city like Los Angeles where one of the biggest hassles we experience is just finding a parking spot.

The new Bloc will have many hip store additions. It will have a gallery-like shop “Free-Market”, luxury men’s brand Wingtip, a GNC, a toy shop Mr. G for kids, as well as Alamo Drafthouse Cinema which will screen indie films with a nice selection of craft Californian Beers. It will bring Boston based restaurant Davios, a gelato-popsicle shop Popbar, juice bar Robeks, as well as a 24 hour open Starbucks.

The Sheraton will also go through a renovation and will have a restaurant and a bar in the first floor called District for the ones who would like to enjoy a nice lunch or a drink after work. For the ones who like to workout and maintain a healthy lifestyle, The L.A Fitness will also go under construction and expand its services by adding a nice and big pool.

We really hope that The Bloc will open its doors soon and we all can have nice space to relax and take a break from this upbeat downtown life.

Discover LA: Front of the House

Shout out to everyone out there who enjoys Mexican cuisine as much as we do. We recently discovered a new venue in downtown LA, one that combines Mexican food with craft cocktails and provides a perfect mixture of both worlds to its customers.

From the moment you step into the restaurant, you immediately feel something different and unique about this place. It has a relaxing yet hip and modern feel. If you are one those people who value a pleasing aesthetic as much as the pleasure to the palate, FOH for sure provides you both. Their food is as good as their decor.

To have a nice lunch after your workout or to have some fun pregame time before going to the Standard Hotels rooftop, you can stop by at the Front of the House and get small bites accompanied with amazing craft cocktails all made with special care.

By having a team who highly values the family spirit and believe in creating the best possible outcome by working together in harmony, we assure you that you won’t regret giving this new discovery of ours a try.
